Cannon Warren Rolle was a dedicated educator who strived to prepare his students to become successful Religious Studies educators. He greatly impacted both his students and colleagues here at UB as well as in the Anglican Church.
UTEB extends its condolences to his wife Mrs. Thelma Rolle, his children and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all!

In July 2022, Dr. Ava Thompson was appointed as the Secretary-General of the International Union of Psychological Science. In this role, she will manage the administrative and financial operations. She will serve in this capacity until 2026.

On Friday March 11, 2022, UTEB held its first official hybrid meeting at the Bahamas Technical and Vocational Institute (BTVI) campus given the recent addition of faculty from this campus to UTEB's bargaining unit.

Associate Professor Christopher Curry (Department of History) was appointed as the Director of The Antiquities, Monuments & Museum Corporation (AAMC), which is responsible for the management of forts and several national museums in the Bahamas.

Assistant Professor Kishan Munroe (Department of Visual Art and Design) launched the release of his book entitled Swan Song of the Flamingo at the Bahamas National Art Gallery. This book investigates the tragic sinking of the HMBS flamingo on May 10, 1980.

Mrs Anne Lawlor was an innovative, creative thinker and visionary who played a core role in defining English Studies as a viable programme in College of the Bahamas and then through the transition to a University. Her never flagging hard work and support of all students, faculty and staff have left an indelible mark on all of us. The memories below from former students and colleagues show the depth of our gratitude for the love and care Anne gave all of us.

Associate Professor Raymond A. Oenbring (Department of English) received MLA’s 36th Mina P. Shaughnessy Prize along with co-editors Dr. Vivette Milson-Whyte (UWI, Mona) and Dr. Brianne Jaquette (Western Norway University of Applied Sciences) for the book Creole Composition: Academic Writing and Rhetoric in the Anglophone Caribbean, as announced on Dec 14, 2020. The prize is awarded for an outstanding work on language, culture, literature, or literacy with strong application to the teaching of English and was first established by the Modern Language Association of America in 1979.
